Hello everyone. Thought it was time for a little update!
Most teams are progressing well into the new season. Lots of happy smiling faces at training and matches (and some tears, but that's just the parents!)
As always, the season starts with a few teething issues to iron out, but they seem to have settled now, and the crazy summer months or registering players and teams is behind us.
At the younger end of the club, we are mostly full. Sadly, we are turning away between 5-10 children a week at the moment in the younger ages, purely because of space and volume constraints. So it was great when I received an email from Hants FA recently about the fact that Test Valley are beginning their next consultation in relation to future pitch and space investment.
As Romsey keeps growing, we keep applying pressure to try and eventually get more of a permanent home ground and extra 4G facilities to practice and play on. These things are never quick and any investment will be summer 2025 at the earliest.
Saying that, we do still have spaces in many of our older teams, so please speak to any friends or colleague who may have children who want to play, or change teams.
As always, a huge thanks to all the volunteers across the club. As a little thank you, there will be drinks laid on for them later in November.
We also have our Xmas event now scheduled for Sunday 8th Dec from 3pm to 6pm at Ganger Farm. It would be great to see as many people as possible there!
Just a reminder, we do have an email address for any queries, or if you'd rather, go into our club website and you can submit a question or comment for improvement on the home page.
Thanks for reading. Up the Town!
